Mountain West IRA, Inc.

They charge me for my account when no action had been done. No deposits. No distinction. Yet they still charge me $300 per year for doing nothing.

Before I decided to move my money  to Mountain West IRA I called and asked tons of questions. Every transaction I made, I called first and asked tons of question. They never tell you how much they are going to be charging you for every little thing. After they charge you they will reference the paperwork that is really vague. I've never been charged so much to have my money with an investment company on my life. They will nickel and dime you and you'll wish it were only nickels and dimes! when you call and ask them about the charges they are disregard not informing you and will tell you it was in the vague paperwork and will take no responsibility for not explaining any of it to you. If you want to invest in metals the fees are even higher. I you want close your account, guess what, there gonna hit you with a $152.50 closing fee for every account. If you have metals and sell them back to the metals company, Mountain West is going to charge you a transaction and wiring fees for every asset you have with the metals company but they don't tell you in advance. If you then try to close your accounts they will immediately charge you the closing fee but will not release your funds until you have paid the transfer/wiring fees that they didn't tell you about nor tell you they have to be paid before releasing your funds. It's amazing that they are making money off of you but just want to screw you over instead of taking care of you. Mountain West IRA should be avoided at ALL COST!!

Always friendly and extremely helpful. I feel they look out for my best interest regarding fees and not just how much they can make off of me.

I recently went to change the percentage on my real estate investment IRA account and after sending the revised documents to them for review and having them instruct changes and indicate that everything was ok I finally sent funds (taxes also being completed). Come to find out that the account was already maxed out and could not have additional funds added after countless hours and expense. Nicki did not do me any favors and now my funds are parked until I find another investment. What a total waste of time and effort! This is the second time I have had issues with these guys on self directed IRA's - Beware. 9.14.2021 Mountain West indicates that they reached out to me which did not occur and after several years of dealing with a poorly managed company I have elected to move my accounts to Directed IRA. During this process it was brought to my attention by Directed that I did not need two different accounts and that both could be setup as one saving fees. I was amazed at all the fees Mountain West added as I went forward with the removal of my accounts. Make sure you do your research and understand exactly what you are getting into with this company.
