Update: In case you were wondering, its now April and the treadmills that were down in September of last year are still broken. Still waiting on that new equipment they promised was coming 5 months ago 3 (update FOUR!!)of their treadmills have been broken for months, getting tired of having to wait around for someone to finish with one. Go somewhere that they actually care about their equipment Edit: Its been 10 days since the day they said they were getting new ones. The ones that were broken in September are still broken, they just moved them around. Lol

Probably the worst gym I've ever been to. I went to meridian n McMillan and chinden locations for several years. They were ok. Nothing great but decent I guess. State st is bad. Cables are way outdated, serious lack of equipment and everything is outdated. If meridian costs $35 this location should be $20.

This is by far the worst gym I've ever been in. In the past 7 days, I've felt more unsafe lifting here than I have in 2.5 years at the YMCA. 2nd day - people openly threatening gun violence. 3rd day - junkies shooting up in the bathroom. 5th day - tweaker harassing people, esp women, at 12am. today - 2 children attacking eachother and screaming in a secluded room, forcing me to put myself in danger and play babysitter. This gym is a murder case waiting to happen, purchase a membership at your own risk. btw if you do make the mistake of lifitng here, do not go after 7PM when the staff leave, especially if you are a woman.

When equipment breaks, its basically broken for good with an out of order sign on it. They have a $40 annual maintenance fee in addition to the monthly fee, its CLEARLY not going to keeping the equipment in good shape, so wheres it going?

Only allowing guests during staffed hours is a big detractor. Also, the facility at this location is poorly ventilated so they leave the emergency exit door open during the day. This completely defeats the purpose of having controlled access to the location and the emergency exit also happens to be located immediately next to the lockers which are not located inside a restroom. The equipment is mostly new and in decent repair. I have not seen anything broken yet, although there appear to be many reviews stating equipment goes down for long periods of time. During peak hours there isnt much room, only a few squat racks available and the floor isnt very large. All in all, its a pretty middle of the road gym. I am a member solely out of location convenience, though I am tempted to go back to making a 20min bike commute to and from Axiom in East Boise again, as the lack of physical security at this gym and its proximity to the center of the homeless population in Boise is a significant detractor.

Peter. We understand your frustration and apologize for the delay. Parts became unexpectedly impossible to get. We expected that to change, but it hasn’t. We will be installing new treadmills on the 8th to replace the broken ones. We are going to do a full refresh of the equipment soon.

This review is very troubling. We take our members safety very seriously and I assure you that what you described is highly unusual and unacceptable. We reviewed our security cameras and talked to other members who work out at the same time, including an employee who is there each evening after 7 working out. We were unable to confirm the incidents you described. If you will contact us directly, we can investigate further. Additionally, there are emergency switches on the wall in each area of the gym. If you or any other member ever feels unsafe, you can push the switch and police will come immediately. [email protected]

Hello, If a piece of equipment is down for an extended period of time, it's due to a delay in getting the necessary parts. Every manufacturer is different and sometimes parts are hard to get. Believe me, we are as frustrated as you. To help solve this problem, we are working our way through all of the locations and updating existing equipment. We chose a manufacture with a good reputation for having parts available and are purchasing from them exclusively. We plan to update our State Street location later this year. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I promise we are doing everything we can and we are doing it as fast as we can.
