Everyone was great. Fun to see all the culture. Food was delicious. The 12 year old fire warrior was most impressive. The host was funny and entertaining.

We wanted to experience a luau as part of our first Hawaiian vacation, and we were very pleased with the Maura Warriors event. We were a group of 8 that included grandparents, kids and grandkids. It was well organized, the food was good, the drinks were generous. Every member of their staff was pleasant, enthusiastic and grateful for us supporting the local economy. The setting was phenomenal, looking down over a peaceful valley with Pearl Harbor and Honolulu visible in the distance. The show was very interesting, sharing cultural aspects from all over the Pacific, not just Hawaii. The level of talent of all the performers, musicians, etc, was impressive. We enjoyed their patriotism, their openness about their faith, and their obvious pride in sharing their culture. What was most impressive was the involvement of the performers children, very skilled in their own right, a new generation carrying on their ancestors traditions. Even my 7-year old granddaughter said she had the best time, and so did the rest of us.

I think this is a different experience than the luau you get at the hotel. This is located at the Hawaiian Country Club just more than a few miles North of Pearl Harbor. I like the activities you get to do when you arrive early. Like make your own orchid wrist lei, a weave bandana, learn how to get coconut meat from the coconut so it's like shaved coconut, and try kava where it's just root and water. This will numb your tongue and still an excellent experience. The buffet doesn't include the pig they cook underground because it's not food safety approved but you do get pork as part of your buffet. You could go back for seconds after everyone has gone up invited by table number. Drinks are good with a drink ticket. The Blue Hawaiian drink looks good but I prefer the Mai Tai. The entertainment is amazing where they show you every single island's traditional dance. These dancers and fire show really know how to show their stuff. Wish I could have met one of the hula girls and see if any one of them are single. I would go to this luau again because I think it was well worth the price of admission. The cheap seats or front table seats, you get a great show and delicious food and drinks. Stay until the end, you won't regret it.
