Fat Daddy's Smokehouse

My wife and I found this place purely by accident. When we walked in we were greeted warmly by the owner and he was very helpful in helping us select what we had for dinner as my wife has some food related health conditions. Food came out relatively quickly after we ordered and everything we ordered was very delicious. The owner of the establishment came around a few times to check up on us and even chat with us. He was very friendly and very helpful. Even gave me a few tips and tricks to take home to try out with own smoker. If you're looking for excellent BBQ with friendly staff and a good family friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. Kid-friendliness: This is a great place to take kids as the owner himself has kids and even said that he wants his place to be a family friendly place.

Great ribs, burnt ends and cornbread. Met the owner at another local establishment and decided to check his place out too. Everything was hot, flavorful and tender. Service was fast and we will be making this a stop every time we visit Maui.

While the food was VERY good, the servings were less than generous compared to all other places in Maui that we dined at. The serving was barely enough for my small appetite and was certainly not enough for my husband.

We ordered the sample plater. With Cole slaw and Mac and cheese. I could make better mac and cheese from a box. The brisket was dry and flavorless some how the pork belly was also dry. The ribs were tender but had very little flavor. The service was ok but not a very good atmosphere and they charged for water.
