Awesome views even on a rainy day. Periodic rains kept coming through all the way to the top, though they were short-lived. Distance is about 1.75 miles each direction. Once at the top the weather broke enough to give good views of the ocean, but the valley side remained mostly enshrouded in clouds. There are a couple of spots that require a little climbing, but everyone I saw on the trail was able to navigate them without much trouble.

Great trail with moderate level of difficulty. Some of the obstacles need fair amount of agility. The view from the top is spectacular (we were told - we turned back after half a mile). Parking: If the parking lot is full then use the street parking

Decent, moderate hike with near panoramic views of East Kauai. Bring a hat, water and perhaps hiking poles if you like them. There are usually walking sticks left against the trunknof the huge tree to your right just as you start the hike. It gets hot on sunny days and muddy after it rains. I only went to the shelter. There is another part of the hike called west trail.

Great trail, good amount of elevation with some light technical spots and absolutely the best views at the top. Excellent morning hike.
