Ridiculous that the single lane road leading up to it was open for about an hours drive and then you come to the larva flow that had blocked the road apparently in Nov 2022!
Why they dont close this single lane road off at Daniel K Inouya highway is baffling!! The island mentality ?!
There was another guy right behind me equally as baffled and annoyed at the 3 hour wasted trip

The road was completely closed, so we couldn't get to the observatory. The road was just wide enough for one car to pass, so if there was an oncoming car, it would be difficult to pass each other.
