Had a great private lesson! Highly recommend to anyone of all stages of learning! Instructor was patient, helpful and super friendly! Had a blast!!

We were able to get up on the boards during the lesson, but the instructor provided no guidance for how to surf on our own after the lesson. We were not given a safety briefing, and our instructor preferred to have us watch another instructor demo how to get up for his student rather than show us himself. When we went to the shop two days later to rent boards to try surfing on our own we found we weren't able to rent the same boards we had been taught on-the largest ones available to rent were 3 feet shorter. It wasn't a completely awful experience but not as amazing as the reviews seem to suggest.

I had an excellent time during my private surf lesson! The instructor was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me navigate a surprisingly challenging rip on the beach. He gave great pointers, and we caught a few nice waves even on a mediocre surf day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun place to learn some surfing on the big island!

Did a surf lesson with Ali today and she was wonderful! Some of our group tapped out early and she was wonderful staying with me and taking me out to some bigger waves. She is amazing and would take another lesson with her in a heartbeat. Thanks Ali!!

My family had an amazing 2 hour lesson on New Years Eve 2023 with Victor. He did a great job teaching my wife and 10 year old daughter how to surf. Would highly recommend Kona Town Surf!
