Alii Health Center

Our community needs Alii Health Care. They are wonderful. Beware of the Urology center there, both Dr. Palmgren and the new Dr. are totally unaware of new health care treatments and will give bad diagnosis and treatment options that are not up to date. They are overwhelmed with patients and are arrogant. They are closed minded and lack compassion. They are OK for small infections, etc., but if you have a cancer problem or don't agree with them, they will be offended and offer no other treatments. They treated me twice in two years with horrible solutions that horrified prime medical Oncologist and Urologists on the mainland. Don't trust them! They are closed minded, hindered by Hawaii standards and could care less. Beware. Get your second opinions as the Urology dept at Alii Health Care has a lot to learn. They are not that nice either.

I have a referral to see a specialist there and have been trying for almost a month to schedule an appointment but nobody answers the phone. Ive called repeatedly during weekday hours. I saw a different specialist there recently and they were good but theres something amiss with Alii healthcare. Ive truly never experienced anything like it. Cant make headway for the life of me.

I had shoulder surgery done in 2015 by Dr Smith. I told him something wasn't right & I was in pain. He said I was just making it up. Fast forward 2yrs later & I'm in the mainland & the pain is unbearable. I see an Orthopedic surgeon, he gets my records from Ali'i Orthopedic. I find out, my no crazy. Not only was the problem not fixed, it's now worse. Dr Smith took out tendens & things that had nothing to do with what he was to fix. Two reconstructive surgeries later, my arm is better but it won't ever be the same from what Smith did. When I called Ali'i Orthopedic to speak with Dr Smith, he was gone from the practice. The person on the phone REFUSED to give me any forwarding information. I'd be VERY careful using this facility. They allowed me to get butchered and then took ZERO accountability. BE WARNED!!!! I don't want anyone else to be put the hell I've been put through. I don't wish it on my worse enemy.

When making an appointment, I tried calling for over an hour - it just rang and rang and rang. I finally had to drive down to this facility, walk in and make my appointment. I was treated so disrespectfully by the receptionist, (thats not the first time this has happened) and was most likely given the furthest appointment out that she could possibly give me for calling her out for not answering the phone. I was not rude, but I was very matter of fact. Her demeanor was disgusting. Also my insurance company called over a month ago to get Dr Trexlers information to send me out my medical cards and the receptionist/ (HR) screamed at the insurance company that pays them. I was so embarrassed for how they were treated I apologized to them myself. I do not want to be affiliated with a place that doesnt take their oath or their patients seriously. Another doctors office that has failed Hawaii.
