Kaimuki Christian School

My kids have been attending this school since three years old and they are now ten and eight years old. For a parent who spends nine plus hours away from her kids it brings me great comfort knowing that the school has my kids' best interest at heart. They have teachers who will bring my kids' homework to my work place because I was too busy, tell me they will stay in during their recess break to provide extra help for my child, send emails to let parents know what is coming up every week, listen to our concerns as parents and make the necessary changes. My kids tell me they have a good day every time I ask them how their day went. They come home happy and good spirited. What also makes this school awesome are the wonderful parents who are dedicated to their kids. No matter how busy their schedules are they will make the time to attend their children's events. If you want your kids to attend a school where the entire school's attention is set on your kids then this is the one.

If your child has any behavioral issues or learning disabilities, they will be treated poorly. KCS is not equipped to deal with these children and views them more as problems versus wanting to help them.  For those who are neurotypical, I am sure this is an okay school.

2 of my daughters attend KCS (preschool and kindergarten) and my 3rd daughter will start in the 2020-21 school year in September, as soon as she turns 2. I am beyond thrilled to have my girls at KCS. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful this school is! Facility is fantastic, teachers are so kind, loving and caring. The school has a great teacher to student ratio and excellent curriculum. More than all this, I feel my daughters are truly cared about, and prayed for. Teachers of other grades even know the names of students that aren't necessarily theirs. There is a real sense of community and family. I love what the girls are learning, the different experiences they have such as cooking, gymnastics, and Chinese. I am blown away by my preschool daughters teacher, Ms Vera - she is literally incredible. Best teacher I've ever seen. Full of energy and love for the littles. I also go and spend time with the 10th grade girls as a way of mentoring them, just being a support etc. I was amazed at how sweet, kind and caring these girls are. It just showed me that the kids at KCS are great kids no matter the age.You won't regret sending your kids here!

Both my children attend Kaimuki Christian School and I can't say enough about how thankful I am to have them grow in a strong foundational environment where academics and integrity building-are well balanced. My children are stretched to fulfill their potential as students yet also embraced and supported to find their individual gifts which has built confidence and the love of learning for themselves. My son started from pre-k now in 2nd grade and my daughter which I moved from another private school from 6th to attend KCS now a blooming 7th grader. Both very different in personalities love KCS. Most importantly are the Christian values I believe taught and practiced throughout faculty and school, which will equip my children for a life time of true joy with whatever the future holds for them.
