MISDIAGNOSIS: My primary physician made an appointment for me to see Dr. Blum. The office staff called my doctor that Dr. Blum canceled the appointment. Although my doctor told them to let me know about the cancellation, they didnt. I went to the different doctor with better credentials few weeks later. Dr. Blum told me I had broken bone. He wanted to do surgery. The new X-ray revealed the broken pieces of bone had disappeared. Dr. Blum misdiagnosed. It was calcified tendonitis. He couldn't read X-ray images done at his office correctly. His unkind staff saved me from unnecessary surgery by Dr. Blum.

I am still out waiting for another specialist to see me after DR just dropped me without trying any medical methods to pinpoint issue. No mri, no nerve tests. Just leaning on an initial xray which he didn't even order. Instead Dr. Blum just states, "I'm not smart enough to tell you for certain what is wrong.". His words, not mine. Now I have to wait for a second opinion because they gave up. With Workers Compensation involved this has cost me a lot of money to wait... 1 good take away- DR. Blum was very cautious about actioning surgery without knowing exactly what the multiple issues are. This lack of effort to diagnose is truly disheartening. Overall staff is great as well as Mrs. Blum.

The lady who answered the phone was the rudest person I have ever spoken with. She barely spoke English and was getting huffy and puffy with me about a note we had been waiting on for almost 2 weeks. Then she hung up on me when I said we had been waiting for it. Make sure you do not go here.

Dr. Blum is one of the finest surgeons that I have had the pleasure of receiving treatment. He is not only skilled and experienced at the highest level in his field of expertise, but he pairs it perfectly with common sense and practical application. He is understanding and excellent in his bedside manners. He listens to what you have to say and provides assuring options. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Blum who needs an Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in: Hand, Elbow & Shoulder, Reconstructive Microsurgery, and Pediatric Hand surgery. Mahalo Dr. Blum!
