I've been seeing Dr. Teruya for about 15+ years. Always providing great eye care and service.Now his office is ran by his daughter or niece?Literally NO COMPASSION for his long time patients, especially post pandemic. **ALSO** (BIG ONE)I recently had two strokes. The QMC physicians informed me that I had lost peripheral vision in my left eye. I can also tell, that I've lost vision in my left eye. But this doctor told me, it was my right eye?!I am now looking for a new optometrist.If you go to this office, I suggest you do the same.

My experience speaks to the amazing kindness and character of Dr. Teruya's front office team.Although my experience has nothing to do with optical care, it does demonstrate the Aloha culture of Dr. Teruya's practice. It was around 2pm yesterday and I was trying to change the battery on my Granddaughter's calculator. She is a student at UH Manoa and her class was starting at 3:30. I went to the hardware store and the auto parts store and neither of them has a small enough screwdriver. They recommended that I go to Longs and buy an eyeglass repair kit because they have small screwdrivers. I did that, but the screwdriver was still too big. At this point, with the clock ticking away, I was getting a little nervous and didn't want to let my Granddaughter down. I figured I would try an optical practice to see if they could help. As luck would have it, Dr. Teruya's practice was right above Longs. I went in and told them my situation. They changed the battery with much Aloha and at no cost - they saved the day !I just want to thank them for their kindness and making me a hero to my Granddaughter !Grandpa John

This place has no customer service skills. Wife wants to pick up contacts, but first needs to make an appointment. Are you kidding me. Even offered to give credit card over the phone so no contact. Nope need to make an appointment. Changing eye doctor. Wish we could give zero stars!!!

This review is for the Drs. teruya, but I've actually only seen dr. Mark. This is a family owned business run. Y the two brothers and they are really great. The reception is patient and knows your name and answered questions about my billing and contacts. Dr. Mark is very reliable with the annual exam and also eye "emergencies". Only thing to note would be their limited hours!

Been going here for many years & still am happy with everything. From the friendly service in the front to the knowledgable advice Dr Teruya gives is excellent. Relly recommend Dr Teruya if you are looking for an optomitrist.
