If youre over 18 and have a disability, good luck in getting a referral from this place. They dont even recognize you and treat you like a number. Newsflash, healthcare for ALL people is a human right and people SHOULD get referred once they age out. They are two-faced.

My son broke a bone and during X-rays in the ER they found tumors. I immediately got a referral to Shriners thinking it was the best place on island. They found more tumors and instead of trying to find answers for the tumors she jumped right to surgery. She wanted to stabilize a different bone. Luckily my mom instincts kicked in and I got a second and third opinion. He definitely doesnt need any stabilization and yes his condition is very rare but she didnt even try. Its either a money thing(we have insurance) or maybe she was just surgery happy either way just follow your instincts and dont just accept what they say. Im so thankful I didnt put my 6 year old through all that for no reason. I will say that everyone else there was so nice and helpful. We felt very comfortable there and they had tons of things to keep my son entertained during his visits.
