This was my first time visiting a dentist in Hawaii. I chose her office because of location. I must say that my experience was just amazing. I have heard horror stories from friends about their dental visits with other dentists so I was a bit nervous. Dr. Jodie is a TRUE professional. She takes so much care and is very considerate. She is very personable and warm. She really takes the time to explain procedures and why they are necessary. The procedure itself is painless! She actually asked if I was okay and if I am feeling any pain during the procedure just let her know. She is meticulous and thorough. I hope she never moves out of town. Her staff is professional and friendly. When you walk into her office you feel welcomed and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jodie Masunaga!

Dr. Jodie Masunaga is everything everyone says and MORE! Parking isn't too bad since you can park in Ala Moana center parking and it's a short walk.It's soo nice to walk into a dental office and be greeted by my name and a warm smile!? Thank you, Celina!! (Sp?) They also had all my patient information faxed over from their Wahiawa office to the downtown office just so I wouldn't spend time filling all those paperwork all over again. YEAH! How efficient is that!!!I absolutely love Dr. Jodie!! With her sincere, warm, and caring manner she sure knows how to make you feel cared for and not rushed. When she steps into the room with you, you KNOW that you have ALL of her attention. She actually listens! She was absolutely pain free. And she is always concerned for your comfort! Inquiring if you're O.k. And to please let her know if I felt any discomfort.Entering and leaving Dr. Jodie Masunaga 's office was more like visiting a friend. You come in and when you leave you're smiling and you are just overall feel good ! Now, how often can you say THAT about a Dental visit?!?!

I've decided to take Lisa T's advice and see Dr. Masunaga,after years of dealing with the retardedness of the Gentle Mental Group, their rude & crude office manager, incompetent receptionist & terrifying big handed dental assistants.Thank you Lisa T. & thank you Dr. Masunaga. I never thought dental care could be so worry-free, educational, & palliative.Pros:-Great office environment. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable & COMPETENT. The receptionist/scheduler/medical biller is on her A-game.-Dr. Masunaga has small,gentle hands. She's also very good with explaining your dental predicaments & your options to good or great home dental care.-They have digital X-ray!!! Gone are the days where you risk lead poisoning from multiple X-ray slides.Cons:-If you don't live close to town, it's a battle with traffic & for parking to get here since they're located in the Ala Moana building.My advice: schedule your visit early in the morning to gaurantee parking & a comfy seat in the waiting room. Dr. Jodie's husband also is a dentist & has an office in Wahiawa if you prefer the Westside & don't want to cross the Town limits of Pearl City.Oh, the Dental assistants have relatively small hands too.
