Amazing quality fresh food, great prices and family owned and run. Staff is welcoming and attentive. Just like going to auntie's house for dinner and auntie can cook!

Whoever we're sick we get wor wuntun min from here and it's really jam-packed with stuff like char siu, wuntun, noodles, bok choy, bamboo shoots, pork slices, shrimp and I always say I'm going to only eat half but it's like the perfect comfort food so I eat it all and have instant regret because it's so much food. We've also ordered here once because our usual place for Chinese food CLOSED (!) and got yummy salt & pepper pork chops which were delicious but the tiny occasional slivers of bone were kind of disturbing (did I eat any bone pieces? Idk?!). Otherwise the flavor was great. We really should test out more food--the menu is quite extensive. Parking in the back, walk up the stairs and down the hallway to the front.

Pauoa Chop Suey is always very consistent. Customer service is phenomenal. Restaurant closes at 8pm and I called in at 7:45. They still took my very large order and was ready in 15 minutes!

If you likey those old skool Chop Suey places, Pauoa Chop Suey sure fits da bill!I remembered as a little kid my parents would take us to those old mom & pops Chop Suey restaurants, but slowly through the years I've noticed a lot of these small locally owned business are slowly going away. What led me here???After seeing my Yelp buddy - "Da FAMOUS Auntie" Nadine C. post her pics of her Gau Gee Min, and Frrrrrrried Gau Gee, I figured it was time to pay a visit to Pauoa Chop Suey as I had this place bookmarked like forever!!!!There is available parking, as I heard behind the restaurant building there are a few spaces, but when I came here I found street parking.Upon walking into the restaurant, it was just like going back in a time machine as this little chop suey restaurant sure brought back a lot of old "small kid time" memories. The restaurant décor was definitely old skool, with a few booths, and about 3 or 4 large tables to accommodate a party of 10 people per table.I came here for Pau Hana Friday with my homie, and Chinese grub was the food of choice. The menu here is pretty extensive, but to keep it simple, I decided to order a fix menu for - "Dinner for Three" @ $59.00, although it was just the two of us.The fixed menu for "Dinner for Three" had the following items -1. Abalone Soup2. Crispy Chicken (Hong Kong Style)3. Beef w/Vegetables4. Shrimp Canton5. Sweet Sour Spareribs6. Young Chew Fried RiceWhat can I say about the grub???Food was good, and my favorite was the shrimp canton & crispy chicken. Nothing like old skool home town cookin'!Service here was very good, as the lady who helped us was very attentive & friendly.Of course at the end of our meal, I obviously ordered too much food, so there was a lot of leftovers for my homie & I to take home.I also noticed the prices here at Pauoa Chop Suey was outstanding! The prices here are a lot better than a lot of other Chinese restaurants I have visited recently.Looking for some old skool Chinese home cooking?Give Pauoa Chop Suey a try! Your welcome!
