  • The burger patty and dog sausage were dry. The potato chips that came with it were soggy. There is an eat-in space outside the store, but there were a lot of flies and pigeons coming for the food, so we couldn't eat slowly.

  • It's a butcher shop. They also sell meat, hot dogs, and hamburgers. I would like you to try the hamburger. The hamburger was really delicious. It was meaty and went well with the cheese. The pickles that came with it were delicious, and the potato chips were especially delicious. I think it's easier to imagine it when you think of fried potatoes. The firmness and saltiness were good. The hot dog was packed with beef and cheese. The beef was tender and there were no streaks. Next time I go, I would like to try the hot dog with sausage!

2/2024: Went back to try the pastrami sandwich. It was amazing, with the pastrami being perfectly prepared: super tender and flavorful. Youd have to be crazy to skip this place! 6/2023: Amazing place, its cool having a butcher shop outside of Chinatown. Diverse selection of meats, and if they dont have it theyll try to find it for you. The deli is awesome as well. Got the dry aged double cheeseburger and the Italian combo sandwich. I need to give it more thought, but I may end up agreeing with other reviewers that the burger is one of the best on island. The dry aged beef gives it an outstandingly robust meaty taste. The Italian combo is great too, with a medley of meats and veggies that taste great. Side note from reading other reviews, why would a Philly native get a Philly cheesesteak sandwich outside of Philly? I would never get a poke bowl outside of Hawaii. Anyway, sure, prices are high. But everything is made fresh in house and the quality of the food is obviously there. Plus, the portion sizes are actually pretty big. Will definitely be back to try the pastrami sandwich! @Phil Ventura generally youre supposed to talk about the business that youre leaving the review on, not places that happen to be nearby. But since you started on it, lets dive in, shall we? You call Highway Inn hipster when its an old, established name, yet dont say the same about Moku, hanks, and Bevy, all of which are practically dripping with hipsterness. Speaking of which, you call the latter three wonderful, but you gave Moku only 4 stars and didnt even review the other two. My dude, at least try to give some backup for your hot takes.

First off: it's on the second floor at SALT, so despite having walked around many times, I'd never noticed this and had to find it in Yelp then search it out. There are 4 stools at a counter looking down on the plaza below. The drink selection is limited; some fresh lemonade would be nice, and pretty easy to add. The onion burger starts with onions in the grill, then the burger meat smashed onto them. Its a patty meltthey then melt cheese onto it. It was pretty much medium-well, I guess the only option given the way they cook it, which was fine, but you wont be asked how you want it cooked. Food was ready in about 5 minutes, so it's quick. There are tables down below that are usually pretty full, but people come and go pretty quickly. Theres mostly metered parking in the neighborhood.
