I found most of the food in Waikiki area of Honolulu to not be very impressive, but the Halekulani Bakery had such delicious artisan pastries that I made it my regular breakfast spot during my Hawaiian vacation. The tea and scones here were okay, but the croissants and danishes are a must try! They had the perfect level of flakiness, and come of a variety of tropical flavors.
The bakery itself has a nice contemporary feel with a large communal table for indoor seating, and a patio out front for those who wishes to dine outdoors. The staff here were friendly.
I tried the following baked goods:
- Lemon Currant Scone
- Guava Danish
- Mango Kouign Aman
- Salted Caramel Croissant
- Pabanan Croissant (Passionfruit, mango & banana)
- Raspberry Pistachio Croissant
- Big Island Macadamia Nut & Chocolate Croissant
- Passionfruit Danish
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available but very limited selection

Love the way they incorporate local ingredients into their baked goods. Tasty, just a bit pricey.

The worst customer service. Said they take Apple Pay. After waiting 30 min line to pay I was then told their machine doesnt always work with amex Apple Pay. I asked if there was any way I could just give them CC number and they werent even apologetic about the inconvenience. I had to then walk away without my food and coffee I had ordered all because they made the mistake telling me from the beginning they take Apple Pay but failed to mention not AMEX anywhere in their shop. Not a single apology for all of what I went through. Garbage customer service.

Fantastic pastries. I had the guava Danish and the lamination was amazing. And very resonate prices for great coffee!

Wonderful bakery but what a pitty that it is closed Monday and Tuesday!
