Delightful out of the way spot with an inspiring view. The lady who greeted and introduced us to the various available honeys was so gracious and knowledgeable. Loved the tastings. Enjoying our favorite every morning.

The tour is very informative! The tour guide is creative, witty, and passionate about beekeeping. I most enjoyed learning about the life cycle of bees and how that affects the hierarchy of their colonies. I highly recommend the tour, but if you dont have time for that, at least check out their shop! The shop has a great honey selection, as well as many other honey based products. The museum displays are also very interesting! You can learn a lot here even without going on the tour.

We stopped by Big Island Bees on a whim and I'm so glad we did. We were greeted warmly and treated to some honey tasting which led immediately to buying some honey because it was SO good. Their vanilla and chili pepper infused honeys are absolutely remarkable. To top it all off, we had their honey ice cream which was one of the best ice creams I've ever had -- NOT an exaggeration. And I've had a lot of ice cream.

I've decided that these folks are my go-to for all the birthday and holiday gifts for those who have everything, or deserve a luxury, and all the in-betweens. Everyone I send it to, falls in love with the honeys. I'm born and raised in Hawaii and live on the mainland now, and this is not just a cherished taste of home (best lehua honey ever), but is a fantastic business to support. Always prompt shipment and delivery, and always in good condition. Let's be real, it doesn't get better than a Bourbon lehua-cinnamon hot toty.
