image I WOULD GIVE A NEGATIVE STAR.....HORRIBLE WORK & INCOMPETENT IDIOTS!
Uni Granite is quite possibly the worst company I have encountered since being here in Georgia. They are untrustworthy, they're scam artists and do shoddy work at best. Richard came out to give an estimate on quartz countertops, installation, etc. At this point there was only communication, no work had been done. A couple of days later Richard and his crony (I say "crony" because they act like old wannabe hoodlums) showed up to cut the bar and install a usb wall outlet. I had to run out quickly to get the correct size outlet plate. When I returned the crony had completely ruined my walls! The wall where the bar was, had a large hole in it and the area that was cut to install the wall outlet was cut on a slant.
I mentioned both issues to them when I returned, and they were both very nonchalant about it. It was at this time that my antennas went up. However, I had to play this game, because they had already cut my wall down. Fast forward....
So, the contractors arrive (without an appointment). At this point I'm just happy someone showed up at all, with the bar being cut down, I didn't have a faucet, etc.
The contractors bring the quartz slab, and it's not what was discussed. I specifically, repeatedly..... stated that I wanted Sqaure edges. However, what I received was rounded. The guys very sloppily installed the counters. They weren't flush against the existing walls and the seams were irregular.
They finish the job (Both holes are still there) and leave. I look and notice the faucet is on the ground. I yell for them "Hey, i think you forgot to install the faucet". They reply "we don't do plumbing". I'm sorry what?
At this point I contact my credit card company.
I then call Richard and explain everything that happened. He tells me they shouldn't have touched my faucet, etc., etc., etc. Richard comes out with his crony to install the faucet, patch up the holes, etc. I ask Richard for the owner's name and number. He says "Me", I say "you're the owner" he says "yes". In the end Richard called and made unauthorized charges to my credit card, lied about being the owner and just is a full-on scam artist.
The owner Michael (who is not much better than his employees) came out to repair as much as he could. But all in all, I wish I had gone with another company. They are horrible people, and their work is below sub-par. Save your money & time and look elsewhere.

image I went with this company after seeing a money mailer, and calling for an in home consultation. The price was right and it was an easy process that included installation.
We went to the shop to pick out our color because he had much more of a selection there. We found a great color for us and went ahead and paid the first half.
I was called the next week for them to do the install. It was very quick! Communication and scheduling could have been handled better, but alas I didnt mind that part. The job was done in about 4-5 hours. We have a very large kitchen!
My only complaints are the following:
The measurements were a bit off so it left a gap between the wall and backsplash. We are redoing them, but still, its unsightly and if we were keeping the current backsplash we would have to fix it somehow. We also have Beadboard paneling we installed on our walls - so because the new granite piece was smaller there was a gap left with the new install. They just caulked it in but its about a good half inch of measuring mistake that now looks weird. We will have to redo the paneling to correct the mistake. Please see pictures for visual.
Also, the installation team had to remove our gas stovetop but when they put it back together, they threw away the ventilation piece that needed to go back on. Its not hard to re purchase or find at homedepot, but still, we have to now go purchase another one and put it back ourselves.
We went from a 2 drain sink, to 1. They installed the new sink, and told us we needed a plumber to do the rest. My husband was under the impression that the granite supplier would send a plumber with the install team - however that was not the case. I chalked it up to miscommunication. The granite supplier has a plumber you can use - and the fee is $250+ depending on the needs of the service. We ended up going to Home Depot and installing the drain ourselves with a kit for exponentially less money. I would recommend assessing your sink situation first before installing the granite and have a plan of action - so you dont get caught without a working sink or stove, for that matter.
All in all, it was a positive experience for the price and quickness of install. I had to deduct 2 stars for the ultimate quality of communication and workmanship.
