Where to start? What can be said that hasn't already been said in reviews below mine. VLPRA are absolutely the most unprofessional, atrocious and unorganized entity I've ever had the misfortune of funding. All these people care about is getting money from parents through fees and such. They truly don't care about the kids. They hire referees that call fouls and traveling more on certain schools and not others. They ignore other teams fouls and such. They basically have favorites. I speak from experience and seeing it first hand. If they are related to one of the girls on any team, you can bet money that team will win. This is the most corrupt and shady organization I've ever dealt with. Let's not even speak of the clear lack of professionalism most of their field workers have when it comes to handling complaints and or problems, they take it all personal and attack you verbally or just brush you off cause they got your money so who cares. Last night one very sensitive red had both coaches kicked out just so the other team had the win, the other team was losing by the way. But in disqualifying my daughter's team meant they were out of the playoffs. Now you may be asking why did they lock the coaches out, well they were telling the refs that two of the other girls teammates kept blatantly pushing our girls and weren't being fouled. That's all. For asking questions. We're done with the clown show that is VLPRA. They need a major overhaul of their structure. Starting at the top of the totem pole. Replace everyone and start over. Maybe then some parents may start funding these clowns again. Examples of how they handle criticism from parents are below in some of the other reviews, as I'm sure someone with hurt feelings will probably make a snazzy remark on mine, or not. I'm done. Parents please stop giving your money to VLPRA, there's a few other organizations out here that will treat you and your children better.

Always enjoyed the coaches but they need better basketball refs. They seem to not know or see everything they call or don't call.

Doesn't deserve 1 star. I am an Air Force veteran. Moved to Valdosta 1.5 years ago. I am also a League Organizer for NFL Flag football. I reserved a field (North Park), got insurance, and was pending a grant that would allow 50 kids to play for FREE!!! I reserved the field 4 months before my season was to start. VLPRA wasn't even doing flag football (only for smaller kids). I get a call a month before my season from someone in charge at VLPRA. His exact words were "There's been a mistake with your reservation, you will not be gettin a field because it wouldn't make sense to have a COMPETITOR using one of our facilities." 1. I thought the parks were public property, and I reserved the field and had all of my paperwork in order. 2. This is about the kids. How am I a COMPETITOR? IF anything, ny program is helping because it's owned by the NFL. 3. I ended up finding a new location (5 months later), which resulted in the grant going to another organization. Although we still had a great season, 50 kids who couldnt afford to play, would have been able to. Anyways, stay tuned for our NEXT SEASON!

Are you looking for somewhere for your child to learn the fundamentals of basketball? Equal opportunity? Equal playing time? Etc? This is NOT the place for you. I am so incredibly disappointed in how unprofessional this first time experience for us has been. A couple of the parents from our team have spoken with Dennis Rice multiple times already since the season started. He does not care. He does not care that there are players only playing 6 minutes in a 40 minute game, while other players on the team are playing 36 minutes. He claimed that there was nothing he could do because the coach is a volunteer. Are there no set rules? Standards to abide by? Anybody can sign up and do whatever they want because they are a volunteer? Is that what he meant? Sure sounds like it. My child did not try out for this team. I paid the same amount as every other person on the team for my child to get the proper training and playing time. We won a couple of our games by over 12 points. At what point do you as a decent human being think to yourself, Hmmm, maybe I should put the kids that have been sitting on the bench the entire game in?? One of the dads went up to our coach and asked him to sit his kid out to allow the other players to have some playing time. The coach said, No. Absolutely mind blowing. Upon reading previous reviews, I see that this is an ongoing issue. Do better, Dennis. Do better.
