Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Northlake

This is the first time I've been to this location and I have to say, I was seriously disappointed. We were greeted by a heavy Marijuana smell in the hallways and a child was running up & down the hall soon after we checked in. The place is undergoing renovations so it's all torn up. We got a "renovated room" and it felt like I was in a Motel 6 or hostel. There was one chair for my husband and I to sit on. There are no more bathtubs. Whoever thought that was a brilliant idea to take all those out is an idiot. Seriously horrible marketing move. Marriott is no longer what it used to be.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights from March 1- March 5 and it was a decent stay. The only thing I was upset about was I paid for breakfast to be included through Expedia. I get to the hotel and their bistro, as they call it, was closed for to construction is what they said. Because I booked my reservation third party I had to ask Expedia for a refund and I couldn't get a food voucher. The bed wasn't soft enough for my taste as I have sciatica. The only other issue is the room I booked was occupied by someone else but was given a different room of the same kind. Overall it was a good stay and no other issues.

Typically have a good experience with Marriott but stay away from this one. -dirty rooms -no one answers the phone from front desk from the room -no one opens the coffee shop in the morning and is unaware of who runs it or when it will open -they decided they clean rooms every couple of days - never had this at a different Marriott Just a poor experience
