I worked there for 7-1/2 years. I heard people get called out of their name ALL THE TIME, by the CEO. I processed majority of the invoices that left with the trucks, everyday, for 4 years. In my time sitting in that little room, I watched, for years, as Chadwick electric would return things, and very rarely did he get credit for everything he returned. Per Doug Mathiss request, for 4 years, I billed every #4 bare copper coil at 200. They were only 198. He knew that. Most of the employee were good, kind hearted people, and were great to work around. The customers ranged from very nice, humble people, to absolute monsters. The more they spent, the worse they were. During COVID times, when material was limited, the top 3 spending companies received the bulk of the material coming in. They pretty much shunned the little guy. Notice I said top 3 SPENDING companies. Doug would send a good bit of that material to a customer, who, many times wouldnt even pay their bills. Our driver would get to the warehouse expecting a check, and there would be none. We would still send material. The little guy got little to nothing. The communication was absolutely awful! Theyd have you put a customer on credit hold, but never tell you when they paid. So the customer would come in and get mad at you for respectfully denying them, not know that their account was up-to-date, and ready to spend again. That warehouse was unsafe on so many levels. There would be pallets, up high, unwrapped, and hanging off the racks. Things would fall from up high regularly. Im surprised nobody ever got hurt from that. When its really humid, the walls would sweat, and create slippery floors throughout. I could sit here and tell you all sorts of unsavory events that occurred in my years of working there. Heres how little they care about their employees: my mom passed away from COVID related issues. They gave me the day of the funeral off. I was back at work the next day. Needless to say, its neither a company I would ever return to, nor shop with again. I would recommend you do the same.
