I wish I could rate the doctor and the office separately. I saw Dr Madeline Pence and she was great, however the front office staff was one of the worst Ive ever encountered. There was an older lady with grey hair that wanted to argue with me more than help. I tried to explain to her that Ive been going to a dermatologist once a year for over 10 years now for a full body check and my family has a history of skin cancer. This was my first time to this practice(and probably my last) and the other practices have always coded the visits similar to a physical that my insurance would cover in full once a year due to my family history. She wanted to argue with me that I had a copay no matter what and I simply asked them to bill my insurance and Ill pay if it comes back with a copay. Ive never had to pay in the past. I even spoke with the doctor and she indicated things have changed recently and a lot of times there is a copay now, but she has seen where it was completely covered under a preventive visit in the past. She indicated she would code it as a preventive visit and see what the insurance comes back with. When I was checking out, the front staff wanted to argue with me again about the copay and I asked them to simply bill the insurance and Ill pay if it comes back with a copay. I explained to them again that Ive never had to pay one in the past. It really wasnt about the copay that I was upset about, it was about the way it was handled and the attitude I was given especially from the older grey haired lady at the front. She wanted to argue and make nasty faces the entire time rather than actually listen to what I was trying to tell her. At the end of the day, things may have changed and I will gladly pay the copay if it comes back differently this time with the insurance, but I was simply trying to explain what had happened in the past at my previous dermatologist. The older lady at the front needs to retire or get training on proper customer service. It may very well be that things have changed and this comes back with a copay, but the way she handled the situation was unprofessional and rude. Some of the other patients in the waiting room couldnt believe how she was talking to me. Needless to say, I rarely take the time to write a review but it was that bad of an experience. I will be looking elsewhere for my dermatology care moving forward and I recommend others do the same if you value any level of customer service.

I've recommended this facility in the past and still do, even with the staff changes. Dr. Rescheduled is gone, but the doctors there now are equally competent and have compasion for the patient. The staff is welcoming. It is easy to get an appointment.

Unlike some of the negative comments here regarding scheduling, I was able to easily set up an appointment for a month out. The problem is my Eczema flares up and down, and by the time my appointment came it was clearing up. The dermatologist that saw me came in and said that it couldn't be diagnosed because it was my first appointment and wrote a prescription for a steroid cream. After about two minutes of me asking questions she essentially disregarded everything I said and asked me to remove my shirt to look at my back. I told her my back is fine, the problem is eczema on my arms. She responded that I was her easiest patient of the day and she felt like looking me over for random moles to "justify" the visit. I have a feeling she wants me to come in 3 times before diagnosing. That way they can milk the insurance and copays. This visit was a complete waste of time.

I went to this office on a recommendation from a friend. I had to schedule the appointment through text as I couldn't reach anyone by phone even with the "new" phone service. I saw the PA who was very nice and she said I had two spots that needed to be removed so a biopsy could be done on them. She told me I would hear back from someone in a week with the results. After 3 weeks of not hearing back I thought I should call. I couldn't get through again so I went into the office. The front desk took my information and said she would have someone get back to me. The nurse called me back within a few minutes and let me know that I have skin cancer and the second mole needed to be removed. I couldn't believe that no one called to tell me!! I scheduled an appointment to have the procedure and then I had to reschedule due to a confiict in my schedule. The next thing is that I get a message from someone saying they had to reschedule my appointment again. So now it's been well over a month and I am very upset about the lack of responsiveness. I also am afraid to have the procedure done with this office as I have been made to feel like an afterthought as a patient. From the first step of trying to make an initial appointment to finding out I have cancer, I can't reach anyone unless it's through text and even then it's spotty at best!! Very frustrating and extremely unprofessional. Now I am looking for a new dermatologist where I will hopefully be taken care of and who will answer the phone and make you feel important.
