Run, run, run!! As far away as you can. Not only is the management terrible with their communication, but this place is not worth the money!! Please go spend your money somewhere else. Ive put in three maintenance requests for the mold in the bathroom and all they can say is thats not mold, its mildew . Are you serious? Thats in my shower, that can later on cause serious health problems when inhaled. Maintenance seemed to be irritated that Im concerned about my health and doesnt even answer all of my questions, such a tragedy! Then they wanna say, turn on the air vent . Which vent? The vent that also had mold/mildew??!? They do not care at ALL about their tenants, please do not move in here. Will be contacting a lawyer, since no one here cares about my well being in this apartment complex. They also must be used to this complaint because the maintenance man wasnt even surprised by seeing this. He told me to get some spray and clean it?? Dont even get me started on the bugs here water turns off twice a week, extra trash fees on my bill, the office never answers the phone, the agents in the leasing office also have poor communication within the office so maybe things may also get mixed up.

Best advice is to keep a paper trail of all communications IF you decide living here is worth the hassle. Management is unorganized. Maintenance staff is the saving grace of this complex, big shoutout to David and Brandon. Formerly Alder Park. Resided here for 1 year. Water interruptions happen weekly or biweekly at best, lasting for many hours, if not the whole day. Many times I woke up to brush my teeth for work or take a shower after leaving the gym only to find out the water was turned off. I also had a couple instances of water coming through the ceiling in the laundry room. Of course the emergency maintenance lines were unavailable each time. When asking management about the emergency line, they only confirmed that the line is inaccessible, nothing further. Inspections are frequent. Almost every other month, maintenance, the state, etc came to inspect the apartment. Once, I was bathing and asked if inspections can be paused while I finished. Unfortunately, I was threatened by the state with a fine if I did not do the inspection right away. Therefore, inspections become a headache by frequency and by who runs the inspection. Halfway through my lease, the apartment complex switched to smart units, meaning no keys and the ability to manage the thermostat and lights, etc through an app. The installation company did not properly install. Upon speaking to management, I was supposed to call the company to let them know of the error. When it was time for me to end my lease, I sent an email 60 days in advance asking if email was sufficient to vacate or if I needed to stop by in person. This email was not responded to, and the staff in office acted as if I never told them anything. Once vacated, I was told to wait 30-60 business days for the return of my deposit. Now, Georgia landlord/tenant laws state deposits be returned within 30 days, not business days, not 60 days. Im two months moved out and still no security deposit.

The apartments themselves are nice. The first problem I had was I applied for an apartment with one price. I talked to Gerald whod told me to apply and it would be that rate. The next morning when I checked the status on the website he applied me to an apartment that was $200 more. He did not call to let me know. I felt that someone shouldve called me. The office staff, as well as their manager Ms. Jackson are unprofessional, and negligent. Their Customer service does not even deserve one star. If youre into people who can not give direct answers, and wasting your time these apartments are for you. I paid $400 for the application fee. I had been calling for weeks to see the apartment. I kept being told the apartment was being updated. Weeks past. Im checking in, still not ready. When I asked about getting my money back Gerald told me that was not an option. Elme Cumberland would not provide me a number for customer service. I had to call another complex to get the customer service number. Ms. Jackson still has not provided me her mangers number, or e-mail. Her and DMitri kept telling me I had to email a general email. I emailed the general email and never got a response. It has been MORE than 90 days. I still have not received my money back. I applied and paid November 14, 2023. This is March. There is absolutely no reason, just excuses of why Im still waiting to be refunded! DMitri and Ms. Jackson kept circling me around saying a check was sent. Im receiving all my other mail. Due to it being more than 90 days I requested the $400 be refunded back to my card. I was not told why it could not be done, just that a check was sent out. I am still trying to get my money back, and an e-mail for Ms. Jacksons supervisor. If someone at Elme reads this Id like a call. I also received several back to back notices that the water would be shut off for the day. From my experience living here with the same management staff in place would be a big disorganized headache, with several water interruptions!
