This hotel is in a great location for touring downtown Savannah. The rooms are average and valet parking is mandatory as there is no parking lot at the hotel, but the location really makes up for it. However, there is something going on with reservations that I would caution anyone wanting to stay here. We got a phone call saying that there was a plumbing issue and that we would be transferred to a sister property and would receive confirmation in a few days. After three weeks and multiple calls with no help or confirmation provided, we called the Marriott corporate office as our trip was in just a few days. The corporate office said that as far as they could tell, rooms were still available both there and at the sister property and he could book them immediately. His words were, There is something else going on there. This is not the first shady thing to happen there, as we have seen many staying there several times in the past. For instance and another cautionary tale, we sat down at the bar once when it was finally open (it never is) and ordered drinks and some wings. The bartender disappeared and was gone over 40 minutes at which point we decided to leave because we didnt know what was going on. Coming out of the restroom on the way to our room, we saw the bartender coming back inside with a to-go box. Their menu is not from the kitchen inside, the bartenders have to go out and retrieve takeaway from an outside restaurant. Overall, this is an okay hotel, but the sum of weirdness makes us wary of ever staying there again, and we wanted others to know as well and be aware of the situation.

I would skip this hotel for 2024, unless you like being woke up by power tools on Saturday and Sunday.

We booked a two night stay over a month ago at the Aloft. We received a voicemail from Cliff two hours prior to check in, that Aloft accidentally overbooked and that we were getting transferred to the Fairfield without our permission. When we arrived we asked for Cliff, I explained to him that this visit was special and we specifically booked Aloft for sentimental reasons. Cliff had nothing to offer but a heartless apology. We arrived up to our room to find pubic hair in the shower and feather pillows on all beds, which I'm highly allergic to. We called the front desk to have someone bring us regular pillows but what we got were four dusty lumpy pillows. We got very little sleep from a very uncomfortable bed and pillows that need to be thrown away. Then we were woken up early Sunday morning by construction noise above us, which we were not told about. This has been the most over priced, inconsiderate and uncleanly hotel we have ever stayed at and we didn't book the Fairfield to begin with. We had no choice but to stay since the entire city was booked due to a book club event and a college campus event. We frequent Savannah often, Marriott will most likely never have our business again especially with this kind of treatment. We requested a fair and quick resolution, a day later we spoke with Cliff again and showed him pictures of the dirty bathroom, dirty stained furniture and the audio of construction noise at 9 am on Sunday morning. He offered us free parking from a contracted company which the night before told us we couldnt have the free parking because they were not part of Marriott. We just wanted a sincere, fair resolution but we got instead was a shrug of his shoulders.
