Chase Bank

On Fridays, only one banker is working here. He doesn't care about the next customer and exceeds the 30-minute meeting as long as he wants. Don't waste your time, avoid this branch.

On or about 11/6/2021 I received a Cashier's Check from a vehicle sale where the buyer wrote my name in as a nick name, like how Bill is to William or Steve is to Steven. I deposited it with a teller at a Chase Branch close to me. I had no issues. Subsequently a day or so later, after I saw that the check had cleared in my account and had debits against those funds, Chase reversed the check and was unable to explain why. After an afternoon on the phone with various customer service departments, I went into the branch where I deposited the funds only but a day or so ago. It was explained that the branch manager wasn't available so I should call Chase again. Again getting no where, I went into the branch again and was introduced to someone acting as the manager. During the conversation a large man came from behind the teller station and began harassing and threatening me to the point where the other employee had to intervene. I was able to video record much of this. I was able to find out this was done by a fraud department. For days I provided information that I was the person the check was written to, even having the vehicle buyer and their bank reaching out to Chase to confirm the same. Supposedly Chase sent the funds back to the buyers bank, but the bank confirmed it had not been received. The buyer ended up paying me in cash and then, when the funds were eventually deposited back into my account, a month later, I returned those funds to him. My family and I had been Chase customers and business customers for decades prior to this incident. Beyond the massive financial inconvenience was the more than obvious racial bias of the branch staff. To date we have yet to receive an apology.

Chase is horrible to their customers. Don't apply for credit cards with them. They won't give you a credit line increase no matter how long you have had accounts with them in great standings. Chase is the worst company to use. Apply for credit cards with citi bank, Discover, American express. These companies with treat you right.
