The New Old-Standard Baking Company

Grabbed a berry choux pastry at the farmers market. It might be the single best pastry Ive ever had. Seriously. The pastry itself was flaky but not at all dry, with some nice flavor. The flavor was intensely berry without being cloying. I wish I lived here so I could buy more!

First off, Erica is super sweet and personable. She made the process of ordering super easy. She made a delicious Hummingbird birthday cake for my mom. We will definitely be ordering from her again.

New Old Standard made our wedding cake in May and we still get rave reviews about how DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL it was! Erica was kind, professional, creative and responsive throughout the planning period. She had so many great ideas for flavor combinations and was so fun to work with! She made the cake of our dreams! Can't wait to use NOSBCo for future celebrations!!

Best bakery in Savannah, no doubt. I normally get a few items every week at Forsyth Farmers Market. Everything Ive tried has been delicious. Donuts, fritters, cream puffs, cakes, crackers, marshmallows, galettes, buns.. Im sure Im missing something else tasty! Point is, its all awesome. We got a custom cake recently & it was life-changing. And if that wasnt enough, the baker is just an all-around awesome person! Go get something delicious.

The philosopher Plato had this idea called the theory of forms. The theory suggests that the physical world is not as real or true as "Forms". According to this theory, Forms commonly translated as "Ideas"are the non-physical, timeless, absolute, and unchangeable essences of all things, of which objects and matter in the physical world are merely imitations. As this would relate to baked goods, there is a theoretical perfect form of a baked treat that only exists as a concept to be aimed for but cannot actually be made in the physical world, where perfect forms do not exist. When one bites into a cinnamon roll, a cake, or a salty toffee cookie made by the New Old Standard Baking Company, they are likely to have a moment where they feel detached from reality. That is because, for the first time in human experience, the wall between the physical realm and the platonic forms is being broken. Somehow, the baked goods at the New Old Standard Baking Company actually manage to recreate the platonic forms of cookies and cakes. Foods that Plato did not think could exist in the physical realm are available through this bakery. I challenge anyone who thinks this seems impossible- and surely, Plato himself would be amongst them- to go give this bakery a try and see if they can find a single flaw.
