Our son has been going to therapy at TLC for some time now and cant wait to go in and play. He gets speech and occupational therapy. The staff at the front desk is very helpful. The therapists are kind, welcoming, and so a great job with our son. Based on what weve experience, we can see its a great group that loves what they do. We highly recommend them.

Amy Squires and her team are the best! We were so nervous about finding a great SLP when we moved since we had such a great one for so long at our last home. We couldn't have been more blessed to find Amy through her Art Barn Social Skills/Minecraft Summer Camp. From that, we began speech therapy and social skills group. Amy really "gets" these special kiddos and knows how to make the most of their therapy time. She masterfully weaves speech, social skills and literacy together so they complement and reinforce each other. Superb communication and administration. Thank you, Amy! You will not be disappointed with Amy and her team.

I put my son in the social skills camp this summer. He suffers from social anxiety and selective mutism. This place advertises themselves as specializing in social anxiety. I was told during the intake process that the program would still be a good fit for my son. I don't think it was. In retrospect, I don't think the director was very professional. Prior to enrolling my son, she never returned emails or phone calls. I was given a lame excuse about her being busy due to some kind of remodeling. However, like many special needs parents, I was desperate to get him professional help. I introduced myself to the director the first day at drop off. She didn't seem particularly inviting, or happy to be there... She wasn't mean, just not warm.... I wanted to briefly speak to her about my son's disorder and give her some input about what tactics help promote speech as he is often nonverbal in social settings. She simply told me that they have one kid every year with social anxiety and she's been doing this for seven years... At that point, I feared that she was "a know it all" who feels too good for parental input. IMO, even if you've been in the field for 50 years, it would still be beneficial to speak with the parent... Needless to say, she didn't return any emails that specifically pertained to suggestions on how to encourage my son to speak. One was a simple suggestion, to ask him what he likes for his birthday (I knew that would encourage him to speak) she never asked him. According to my son, he was never encouraged to speak to the group. Only feedback that she gave was that her 11 yrs old daughter spoke to him once... There was also never a trained professional able to provide feedback at the end of each day... Perhaps there's a reason for that. If you want feedback, you'll have to track them down. On a good note, they do provide fun filled field trips. You'll have to sign a hold harmless waiver for the trampoline park. Enjoy!
