La O'wn Academy

I have had children at La Own for over 8 years now. La Own isnt just a daycare, it is a school and a family. My oldest daughter spent infancy through pre-K at La Own. She arrived at elementary school and was completely bored because she had learned the entire kindergarten curriculum while at La Own. She is now in 2nd grade, in the talented and gifted program and taking 3rd grade courses. I have no doubt that this is in large part due to the love and attention that she received during her time at La Own. My youngest daughter is currently 3 years old at La Own. She is able to write and identify all of her letters and count to 20. Her speech therapist sees her once a week at La Own and commented that she was so impressed with the instruction that the kids are receiving at that age. I have no doubt that she will excel in elementary school as well. Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Jan and the wonderful staff absolutely love my children and have become like family to us. I wholeheartedly recommend La Own to everyone I know.

La Own is a wonderful daycare! My daughter has been attending since she was 5 months old and the staff is like an extended family to her. Jennifer and Jan are warm and loving. They spend time in every classroom helping out with the children and cleaning after the day is done. There are a lot of other staff who have been working there for a while who my daughter absolutely loves! The school recently got repainted inside and all new furniture. Their toys and supplies always seem in good shape. It always smells so clean. I love that its not just a daycare, they also have a set curriculum. They are very honest and communicative if my daughter falls down/ has an injury or seems sick. I recommend this place 10/10

Just noticing that almost all of the bad reviews are from people that have never reviewed anything else, and only a couple offer any context. We started at La O'wn about 2 weeks ago, and while it was hard for our 2 year old to get use to going to daycare, he now waves goodbye happily in the morning, and is happy when I pick him up. A lot of the toys are old and used, but if they were brand new then they'd be old and used in 6 months, so I don't think the little kids notice / care. They have a nice playground area out back. The teachers are really nice, and everybody, even teachers in other classrooms, say good morning when we walk in. The price is really great compared to other daycares. Also, saying "they are in it for the money" as a bad thing doesn't make sense. Do you think people open daycares to watch and change other peoples kids all day because its a ton of fun? Would you watch 10 kids everyday for free?
