-dirty rooms -rude staff -BEDBUGS I was on a road trip with my husband and my handicapped grandma. We were desperate to stop but needed a hotel that had a handicapped room adjoined with a queen room. I had called maybe 7 other hotels before this and none of them could accommodate (which I know is a very specific ask), until this hotel. We pull in, exhausted, and when u walk in the whole place smells like mildew, but like I said we were so tired and just wanted a place to sleep for 7 hours before we got up in the morning and kept driving. We get to the rooms, ignoring how disgusting the hallways were, and I get my grandma settled in before finally going into my own room. Walking around I step in a huge puddle surrounding the air conditioner, so I called the front desk. The lady who answered was short and said she would call me back when she was done helping the guests checking in. Fine. She calls me back at least a half hour later and is pretty much saying we can move rooms or deal with it which doesnt work because I need the joined room in case my grandma fell in the middle of the night so I could hear her, and she needed the handicap room so she could use the bathroom. So I just asked if we could possibly have a discount on the room as we drove a good half hour out of our way on the assumption that they had these rooms available and habitable(!). She then said that it was odd I waited this long to call and was insinuating I was lying about it. We went back and forth about it for a second before she said fine and then hung up on me. This was around midnight. That gave me a weird feeling because the place smelled like mold, it couldnt have been the first time this AC unit had leaked so I felt like if they were lying about that, what else would they lie about? I decided to check the bed for bedbugs, and lo and behold, the mattress was in a bedbug cover, the sheets had blood stains on them, and there was bedbug poop in all the little crevices of the mattress. At this point, I was so irritated and tired that I went into my grandmas room to check her mattress, and it seemed ok, so we moved all of our stuff into her room and left the other room completely vacant. We should have just packed up and left at that point, but we were so tired and the chance we would find another hotel that could accommodate us at that point in the night after getting my grandma back into the car, which is a whole ordeal on its own, seemed worth the risk. I am now COVERED in bedbug bites. Down my arms, down my legs, all over my back. DO NOT STAY HERE. Youre better off driving into the next town. The next morning we woke up and saw the greasy handprints all over the headboard from the people who stayed before us. Safety: This place is a health hazard.

My husband and I traveled to Perry for the first time to attend the Southeastern Model Show. We chose the Hampton as Hilton honors members and used rewards points. We were pleased with the location being so close to the venue. However, I am very disappointed with the condition of the room. The bathroom wallpaper is peeling, the toilet barely flushes, and the bed and pillows did not offer a good night sleep. The door to our room was difficult to open, We swiped key cards and got the green light, but the door wouldn't open. Had to try several times. The elevator door had seen better days. Hilton certainly needs to invest in updating this location. The breakfast was not that great. It seemed as though they did not want to refill items that were popular, such as the muffins, bread, and poppy seed cookies. The breakfast attendant was standing in the doorway, talking on her phone while we were eating. My husband spends approximately 150 to 200 nights a year in hotels for his job. He stated that this has been the worst Hilton experience he has had. Needless to say, we will be choosing another hotel next year when we visit Perry for the 2025 Model show.
