This review is not an accurate description of what transpired with this restoration project. We at NRG keep records of every incident and/or conversation that happens during an insurance claim. NRG was established to give consumers assistance when filling a claim with their insurance company and most of our technicians have an adjusting background. Adjusters normally work for Insurance companies and they’re responsible to come up with a decision on a claim that is filed by the property owner, and they’re also responsible to come up with an evaluation on how much a claim is going to be. We at NRG hire ex-adjusters so that when a claim gets filed we know what to do to help the homeowner get through the claim process as quickly as possible to get them back to pre-loss condition. We spoke to the homeowner after this post was made. What was left off the review was that the flooding that was describe came from the reconstruction company that the homeowner hired. We referred that company because our reconstruction department was backed up and we didn’t want the homeowner to wait any longer then they had to but they had an option not to go with that recommendation. NRG was hired to mitigate water damage and to move her contents out of her home so the flooring could get refinished. We communicate with all our clients that the restoration process can take up to three or four months depending on the size of the claim and it also depends how quickly the insurance company responds with payments to keep the project moving forward. According to our notes this insurance company took longer than usual to pay out this claim which in turn slowed down the process to get their contents back to them. When something like this happens it is out of our control and was communicated to the homeowner. They were advised that they could speed things up if they called their insurance company and let them know that we couldn’t move forward until payment was received. We picked up their contents on 8/18/23 and delivered everything back on 9/10/23. Another factor that slowed down this project according to our notes were upgrades that were requested by the homeowner. Any time upgrades are made it definitely can affect the length of a project. So if you’re guilty by association you could say we are guilty by referring the reconstruction contractor, but a one star review after a successful restoration with little to no money out of pocket seems to be unfair towards this review. If after reading this response, you feel you can do better with another restoration company, I would strongly suggest using a company that has ex-adjusters on staff. This way if your insurance company denies your claim and/or doesn’t want to pay for part of your claim that company should know what to do so you’re not paying anymore out of pocket then you have to.
