Poplar Preserve by D.R. Horton

Our experience has been alright here so far, even considering the bad rep the builder has online. Also, the internet only took five minutes for a technician to hook up (we used xfinity). There is truth that it seems like cheap materials were used, especially regarding interior construction. The main issues weve had so far are cosmetic (cracks in cement garage floor & patio, nail pops after two years in ceiling and walls, fragile blinds/parts, ceiling becoming stained from stove use/no vent to outside.).

Poorly constructed, trying to get by with the bare minimum. Tried taking advantage of bc we are 1st time home buyers. Would be zero stars if they let me

Ive lived in one of these new homes for a year now and have not been impressed for a few reasons. The first is that the main road these homes are built on is very loud and I should have realized before moving in but If you need quite time, or need to focus on your work, you are not going to be able to do so because of how loud the noise is from the main road. Im surprised the builder did not at least put up a fence and some bushes to try and deter the noise from the road. Additionally, weve had a lot of things break in the home during the 1st year such as the door knobs have all come loose, the bathroom shower cracked, the door bell stopped functioning, the dishwasher has stopped working two times, kitchen drawers have become loose, and the siding to our house has become wavy. A lot of neighbors are going through the same problems. The exteriors to the homes are very nice and they do look good but its a cookie cutter neighborhood the interiors are built from very low quality cheap materials. They didnt even finish painting the inside walls to the garages. Kinda disappointing such a large builder would produce homes of such cheap materials.
