        Filed for SSI benefits when asked to file SSDI, spent almost a year in waiting, thinking that they were on top of things with me being in and out of the hospital. Only to find out they wasted my time and money. Was told in the hospital that I have a month to live. On hospice now and I am just too tired to fight now. I hope that you all are happy. Have a wonderful life.

      Your claim has been filed with SSA as BOTH SSI and SSDI. After we notified SSA of your recent terminal diagnosis and pursued a TERI application, they awarded your current SSI benefits immediately. That is wonderful. SSI and SSDI are not mutually exclusive. Your SSDI application is still pending. You can receive both SSI and SSDI if awarded by SSA. It’s just that your SSDI application is taking longer.
