Lee County Utility Billing

Wow! Avoid living in Lee County, GA if you can. I paid my water bill on the very day I receive my bill from November 2022 through January 2024. In February 2024, I forgot to pay the bill and on exactly the 10th or 15th day, when I came home from work my water was shut off. I thought there was some temporary outage in the apartment complex so I called the leasing office. They asked me whether I forgot to pay before it dawned on me that I did. Lee County Utilities office was closed and the number I am supposed to call sent me straight to voice mail. I them went online and paid. Water was turned back on at about 10pm that night. This is so cruel and uncivil for a government agency to shut off water, a basic necessity when a resident is late for 10 or 15 days. It is so unusual it is unbelievable. When I called the next day, they insisted it was my fault they turned it off. Ok...but water is a basic human need and they don't even send a reminder? I have lived in Dallas, San Antonio , Charleston, New York and Virginia and none of these places will be so so cruel to their residents. I'm glad I'm leaving the county in another week or so. Lee County, GA is not a good place to live.

I suggest if you Black don't move to lee county..They look down on all Black's and low poverty whites..They sit in their office allday and be Racist against anyone who forgets to pay their bills.."I bet they're Black".Kelly is the only one that don't see color. I don't recommend this company to a snake!

They shut mine off also...but it was my bank's fault....I've never had any problem in the 15 years I've delt with them...keep up the good work.... FLJ
