Hello. My name is Jay Matthews. I recently decided to purchase a home and meet with Mashawn Duncan-Young in May of this year. After meeting with her and discussing my needs for a home we went through the process of trying to find a home that would suit my needs. I have been wanting a home for a very long time and meeting with her had me very hopeful, optimistic and excited that I was going to find my dream home soon. I am a caregiver and provider that takes care of my elderly mom and younger brother so finding the perfect home that would be spacious enough for all of us and would suit our needs was quintessential. There were several homes that came across my path that I liked but for one reason or another it did not work out and we started the process again. There were also many times that we were due to meet for appointments to view Homes and she would cancel at the last notice. Which was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional because I would rearrange my busy hectic schedule to meet with her to see homes and she would no call no show at the last minute which happened very frequently. Also, at times trying to get in contact with her was an ordeal because she would frequently not answer her phone several hours or even days to respond back and the voice mailbox was often always full. However, on August 5th 2017 we went house hunting and we came across 285 Saddleview Trail in Riverdale, that I absolutely fell in love with. It provided me the space that I needed and the convenience to work which is very important to me being that I work at the airport. I was advised by Mashawn that I would need a home inspection which she referred me to Mr. Owens. Mr. Owens went to the property August 16th 2017 for the home inspection which I attended. He advised of several things that would need to be addressed before purchasing and residing in the home. Upon his advising Mashawn drafted an itemized list to give to the selling agent Tiffany Wade, for the items to be repaired and or replaced. There were several occasions where an amendment was made for an extension for instance one was for due diligence and another was for an extension for the closing date. However, with contact from Mashawn I was assured that the concerns would be addressed and I would have a closing date of September 21st 2017. Several weeks had passed, and I decided to reach out to Mashawn to see if I could view the home before the closing date. She assured me that wouldn't be a problem. And again, there was no call no shows and cancelled appointments and it was eventually pushed back to September 16th 2017. I was able to view the home with my mom and brother that day, which they would also be residing there. As we viewed the home we asked several questions as far as the repairs because it looked as though that the repairs was not done and that was to be addressed and other minor issues. She assured me once again that everything was taken care of and that she would contact the listing agent Tiffany Wade, about other minor issues prior to closing on September 21st. For instance, like the removal of the sellers items and debris that was still inside of the home days before closing. With inspecting the home on September 16th, it was very unsettling to know that things were still inside of the home as though the seller was not ready to move. But again she assured that everything would be fine and we was okay to close on September 21st. I also asked what time we would be closing on the 21st of September due to the fact that I did not have that information and was unaware of the time and location for closing, which she stated she would to get back to me with that information. On September 21st 2017 I rearranged my schedule and was anxiously awaiting her phone call because I thought we were too close that day. She called me at 4:10 p.m. that afternoon and stated that the repairs for the home was incomplete. Part1
