This firm markets heavily and has a good website. Utilize the website for information. Do not use the firm. Reasons to avoid: 1. They are "reactionary" versus "plan" based in a client's case. 2. There is no personal vestment/concern for you as a client. Initial contact/consult gives that impression, but it's false representation of the firm. You speak with a salesman who plays on emotion for your initial consult. You never have contact with this individual again. You are introduced to your "team" via email and there is lack of consistency with the team throughout the process. As another review stated - you are a number. 3. It is an attorney training mill, hence the "team". The team approach (lead attorney and attorneys with less experience under them) result in poor communication and costly error. Basically, they know procedure and have a check off list/system approach, but do not plan well for your specific case. Additionally, the lead attorney and team are assigned too many cases which limit ability to handle them thoroughly. 4. They present/market as being cost conscious but are not. Poor communication and preparation, lack of forward thinking/error, cost of correcting errors, poor advisement, and personal loss beyond assets is extremely costly. You pay more for errors made along the way - especially as they charge you to correct/fix them. Spend more on a good attorney. The overall cost will be the same as using this firm - and you will receive guidance to navigate areas that matter most. 5. . The firm has high employee turnover. In the 1.5 year time frame I worked with this firm, at least 4 individuals I worked with left. Two were attorneys on my "team", which was not even communicated. They just disappeared from my team, and I would find this out at inopportune moments - like during the prep the day before a status check-in. Other individuals that left were a paralegal on my team and someone in the financial department who had been helpful. Note: Good companies (firms) keep good employees/people. 6. They are not equipped to assist clients divorcing a narcissist. This requires and attorney who is able to calculate/plan ahead. In summary, lack of communication of critical information, poor guidance, critical errors, etc.. resulted in a very costly and traumatic experience. You hire an attorney and expect to be able to trust them to guide you through the process. Unfortunately, I trust easily - and bought in to this firm. My trust was eroded. They worked to salvage it throughout the process - and at a certain point I was too far in the process to look elsewhere. Thankfully, I have been able to steer 4 individuals who considered or had already paid a retainer to this firm in another direction, and now have references for solid divorce attorneys which I can recommend to others facing one of the most difficult situations in life.

Weve been going through a very litigious custody and divorce situation. The Meriwether & Tharp team has been extremely professional, competent, aggressive (when need be) and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Kayla U, who was our lead attorney. She is a consummate professional, able to keep her wits about her and very sharp when it comes to family law. Mary G., who is one of the paralegals in the office is also on top of her game and always available to answer questions. I highly recommend this team if you are looking for a divorce or custody attorney.
