Mr. Phelps recommended a type of zoysia for our small backyard. When the sod came we asked why about a dozen pieces on top of the pallet looked different (blades looked different and they were already green when the rest of the pallet was not). We were told it was the same, just green as it was on top and exposed to the sun. After it was laid and the brown grass greened up it was obvious we have 2 different types of sod! The dozen or so pieces are Bermuda. We called Mr. Phelps, he came to look at it and said he would replace the wrong pieces. That was about 2 months ago and we have not seen him again. Several times we have left voicemails that go unanswered. We have had the sod for total of 6 months. We had another small issue with the installation but that was nothing compared to the unethical issue of the sod. As a landscaper I am sure he knew the difference between 2 types of sod. We did. I think our yard was too small a job for him to want to do correctly.
