Relax Inn - Folkston

This place was horrible from the rude, disrespectful, and thieving people that manage the motel. She refused to pay me $50 that I overpaid the room for. Then they knocked on my door the morning of checkout 15 minutes before 10:00 when checkout isn't until 11 and told me I had 20 minutes to checkout or they were calling the police on me. This is by far the worst motel/hotel I've ever stayed at in my life and i havent even gotten to the abundance of roaches that covered the place. It's no wonder there was only one other person staying at this motel. Never again will I ever even consider this place. Rooms: Nasty filled with roaches

We have stayed here in the past; the motel is small and dated, and not the cleanest place...BUT everything works as it should. Modern air conditioner, microwave oven, minifridge with separate freezer, coffeemaker with complimentary coffee and creamer, large modern LCD HDTV with cable, hair dryer, clothes iron. No house phone or alarm clock. We did not see any bedbugs, roaches, or other pests...and we checked! The beds were adequate but my pillows were a bit lumpy. Doors have card key locks with deadbolts and chain locks. There is an onsite swimming pool but on every one of our visits, it was drained and closed. This isn't the cleanest place, but it gets the job done, and as stated above, everything worked the way it was supposed to. We will return in the future. Nearby activities: Close to the Folkston Funnel train-watching platform, Folkston Railroad Transportation Museum, and Okefenokee Swamp Park. Safety: Doors have secure locks and the area seems safe. Walkability: Single floor, wheelchair accessible rooms. Food & drinks: McDonald's, Okefenokee Restaurant, Thai Smile, Los 3 Mariachis, and Dairy Queen are only a few miles down the road.
