I was arrested when I went to Lakeside IN SCHOOL, apparently for doing something that completely legal (charges were dropped). So, I thought, maybe things have changed. Nope. They won't address bullying. They just ignore it. They send kids to school in severe weather. I've had multiple nieces being picked on, and no one does a thing. I also just learned that one of my nephew's friends took his own life. Is this what y'all want? Is this your legacy? Someone needs to get the GBI on them, like, stat.

The summers are getting shorter but the school still requires 180 days of attendance. Previously, we used to have 3-4 months of summer break, but now we can barely afford to send our children to summer camps and have to hurry up on summer break as school starts just two days later. This leaves us with insufficient time to buy school supplies because half the time is spent paying for summer camps and other activities in July. Teachers are given extra holidays, which is unfair to parents who cannot afford to take any days off work. I work at a job where I cannot afford to miss any work. I cannot teach my kids from home as I have to support them. These are the issues that my tax dollars go towards in public schools. Additionally, our Board of education is always the only one in the county that never closes for weather. However, the board does not think correctly as they send children home in bad weather conditions, putting their safety at risk or making parents miss work to collect them. While the school claims to care about our children's education, they do not care about their well-being when the weather is horrible. Finally, the board of education opens up at 7:30 am when some kids get on the bus at around 6 am and reach the school at 7 am. This raises questions about the board's commitment to our children's safety and well-being. In summary, I believe that the school system is broken.

This school district does not care about the safety of their students like they claim. Last school year they sent their students to school while there was a hurricane warning through out the state and every school district closed their schools except ccboe. Horrible district. Recently there was a major storm and they still sent their students to school it seems like they are still not taking notes from other counties. Students had to walk to their classes through hard rain and thunder lighting and you call that professional?? And you still claim that you care about the safety of your students and staff and yet you make them go through this?? Please start taking actions when it comes to severe weather like this cause if you proceed this kind of behavior students and staff including bus drivers may get injured.
