I was a student a cci from freshman year to first semester senior year. My fellow students and I have experienced racism and sexism on multiple occasions. Through my entire time at CCI they dress coded young black women constantly and let the white girls wear the same things and get away with it. During my first semester senior year they printed out an assignment for home room that displayed black face and it was never properly addressed. Now i have left the school and do flex academy which has been great. However, it pains me to hear the racism is still going on in my absence. They let white students wear clothing with confederate flags on it all the time but they made a black student take off their black lives matters t-shirt. The students are currently planning a protest due to the frequent racism experienced. If you are a young black woman or man I do not recommend CCI.
