I went to get food for my elderly mother and was denied. My mother was not feeling well so I went on her behalf. She has been there before. But they said I had to have a certain card but it wasn't explained to me what type of card. I left a long line that I had been waiting in just to be denied. My mom and I really needed the food. I had just started a new job because I had been ill myself. I was waiting on my first paycheck because I take care of her in addition to her monthly benefits. There were so called multiple families in a car I overheard her say. But some of these people are getting extra food and being greedy and taking from the needy. The churches don't seem to care about that. They think they are helping but are just doing things for show. Just like people who give to the homeless and post it on social media. This is why I don't depend on Churches. I depend on God. I was raised Christian Baptist and was going to try to explore, tour and learn more about St. Peter and Paul/Church but maybe this was a sign not to. I'm the type of person who doesn't asks for anything unless I really need it. I asked the lady was there anything that she could do. She replied no. People please stop taking from those who may really need help. I would have waited for as long as it took to see if they had a spare box or some leftovers. We hadn't been to this church in years for food and we won't be going back. So sad the world we live in. But I am thankful for what we do have on this upcoming Thanksgiving. God will provide.
