Plantation Renovation

We hired Plantation Renovation to finish our basement. Wade came out and surveyed our basement and worked with us to create a design that fit our needs, going back and forth making adjustments as needed without issues or pushback. After we agreed on the design, he personally went to the design showrooms to help us pick out what finishings we wanted. Letting us know what would/wouldn't work with our plans, but leaving all design elements up to us. We had a dedicated foreman assigned to our project who was onsite everyday that we had contractors onsite. This allowed for keeping the project on time and kept us in the loop the entire time. It also allowed us to catch any issues in advance before they became major. When there was a change order due to an issue with our existing foundation/plumbing, they were upfront with options, pricing, etc (as this was a problem uncovered after the fact and could not have been anticipated.) I appreciated the payment schedule was based on multiple project milestones and this was laid out before any construction began. This allowed us to budget accordingly, but aso allowed for constant communication between us and Plantation Renovation and showed true project management. Contstruction itself met and exceeded our expectations. Construction included replacing load bearing walls with support beams, moving other walls, changing plumbing direction/flow and then complete finishing. We even had a realtor friend of ours help with staging afterwards and she was impressed with the detail of the finishings. We felt in charge of the process the entire time and was in constant communication with the team. As far as the elephant in the room - pricing: They definitely weren't the cheapest. However, we felt that with what you pay extra in costs, you get back in the quality of the build, the true professionalism of the team, the complete project management from start to finish with no cut corners, and the constant oversight over the contractors to keep things ontime and on budget. We would 100% hire them again for any future projects. We chose Wade and his team for their professionalism and demeanor. Unfortunately, Covid hit right as we planned to start the project, but Wade was patient (waited for about 1.5 years) and honored our initial contract. His team showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of each day throughout the project. Although it took a little longer than expected, the end result was great and we really love our newly remodeled bathrooms and laundry room. My parents recommended Wade after they had their back porch renovated and enclosed. He and his crew did such a good job on their project that my in laws were more than happy to pass on his information. Wade was actually the third contractor I spoke to about bathroom remodels. We needed four bathroom's completely remodeled and various other projects completed around the house. I immediately felt comfortable with Wade at our initial consultation. I did not feel pressured or rushed to make any decisions. I had A LOT of questions and Wade was very patient with me. He was super responsive throughout the entire project. The best part of the process was having Carey, the project manager, on site throughout construction. He was at my house everyday that work was being completed. Carey is a wonderful human and he truly became like family. He made sure the subcontractors knew exactly what they needed to do and he made sure every step of the project was completed perfectly. Everybody needs a Carey during their renovation!! Needless to say, I am very happy with my new bathrooms. They are beautiful. Thank you Wade and Carey for taking such good care of our home. This company is top notch! Wade and Carey did a fantastic job keeping our project on track. The trades they use are friendly, qualified and professional. They also were very tidy and cared about the condition of my home when they finished the job. Everyday the work area was cleaned up. This is a plus in my book! Full kitchen renovation (approx $78K). Working with Plantation Renovation was even better than we hoped. We initially did a due diligence on several general contractors and PR was the most organized, business experienced, and customer oriented. PR actually listened!! The only contractor out of 4 estimates. They provided a detailed project plan, cost estimates, and CAD drawings. Wade came up with a creative, cost effective solution to our kitchen layout. They have 2 very experienced project managers that managed our renovation from beginning to end. Everyday a project manager was on site to oversee the specialized contractors (demo, electrician, HVAC, plumbing, cabinets, counters, etc), manage the overall project, and keep us in the loop. They followed the plan. We had no major issues at all nor surprises. Now, little issues do come up which is normal in renovations but the really test was how PR handled those...which was EXCEPTIONAL. 3/4 of the way thru the project we felt so confident that we went on vacation! I have never let a contractor in our house previously without us there, but we trusted our project manager/Carey so much we did it! He sent us updates and pictures daily. When one project manager was out the other filled in easily. Everyone at PR was well informed on our project at all times. We felt that the team made our project actually enjoyable (other than the dust that can't be avoided in a renovation). They are quality people who put customer first, are enjoyable to work with, and very knowledgeable. There is likely nothing that they have not seen nor dealt with! Thank you Carey and Wade.
