Geet-Rung Academy of Kathak

I have been taking online classes with Ms. Divya since last December. I started my Kathak dance after 10 long years and was hesitating to start it after a long gap. But when I connected with Ms. Divya , she encouraged me to start it again. She is very experienced, knowledgeable in making things easy for her students. I am really lucky to have her as my Kathak teacher. Thank you so much Ms. Divya for all your guidance and knowledge that you shared with me.

Im learning from my guru Ms Divya ji for the past one and half years. Since I knew a little of Kathak from before and I shifted to Atlanta and joined Geet- Rang, Ms Divya immediately understood the level of Kathak I knew and trained me accordingly. I felt very comfortable from the beginning. I wanted give exams in Kathak and maam encouraged me really well and enrolled me at Gandharva mahavidyalaya, Pune to start taking my exams. The whole training for the Kathak practical exams was given by her and she made sure I knew every single composition in the syllabus thoroughly and made me very confident. And now I am very happy to share that I have got great grades for my 1 st and 2 nd year exams which I took together under her teaching. Her commitment, dedication and discipline which she shows to the art form inspires me and motivates me to learn more and level up and train for the remaining Kathak level exams and also express the art form from within me. Her beautiful compositions which she choreographs are very rhythmic and at the same time mixes traditional Kathak compositions and modern Kathak poses. She invites and gives opportunity to all of her students to perform in various events in temples and charity events which made me face real audiences and deliver our performances with lots of grace. Her attention to detail has made me practice continuously to perfect my poses and also match the taal of the tabla which is the foundation. Im personally very happy to be under my guru Ms Divya. I have become more rooted to learn about this beautiful art form in detail along with the blessings of my guru Ms Divya Srivatsava ji.
