BUYER BEWARE OF TODD YOUNG PLUMBING, INC.
In August of 2021, my husband and I were excited to move our family into our brand-new forever home built by SLM Homes, LLC (run, run very fast if they are your builder). The excitement did not last long. We have had plumbing issues since we moved into our new home. To start, the hot water was not turned on in the house and the basement toilet was not hooked up. Then came the sewerage issues. We had to have the plumbers come out on multiply occasions because we were having sewerage back-ups in the basement toilet and bathtub. Then in February, just six months after moving in, we had a major leak coming from our living room ceiling. Water was literally pouring from the ceiling. Since the living room is on the main level of the house, we were confident that it was not roof related. I immediately got our home warranty emergency letter that was provided to us by the builder and contacted the emergency plumber assigned to us, which is Todd Young Plumbing, Inc.
The plumbers came out and cut six huge holes in our living room ceiling. After an inspection, they stated they could not find the source of the leak and advised us to wait a week to see if we had any other issues. After a week, we had no other issues, so I contacted the plumbers office and was advised that I would need to submit a request to 2-10 home warranty for repairs, which I did. This request was denied because I should have submitted the 2-10 home warranty request immediately, instead of waiting a week. I will take full responsibility for that mistake. I was merely going off the information on the Important Warranty Information letter. I did not think at the time to review the home warranty manual provided to us.
Today I reached out to Todd Youngs office to find out if they could give me the exact date, they came out to our house to inspect the source of the leak. It immediately became obvious that the lady I was speaking with was aware of our issues with the builder. She rudely advised me that since they just came out to look at the issue, they were not responsible for the six holes they cut in my ceiling.
I take responsibility for not educating myself completely on the 2-10 home warranty. A six-month-old house should not be having plumbing issues. And there is no reason to be so unprofessional and rude to customers you are serving. Its like once they get your money they dont care. Just remember, that money pays YOUR bills. Be kind. Cody and his crew are awesome. I can call them in the am and i have had same day service. I have had issues with my sub pump and washer drainage and the guys show up and fix it. Im so glad i have a plumber programmed into my phone and help is on the way at a press of a button. Thanks guys Service: Sewer repair
