Please run and do not move here. The maintenance supervisor is extremely rude, lazy and dishonest. When you call to speak with the property manager or leave a message for her to call you back she refuses. They lack empathy, and will not fix maintenance issues in your apartment. The maintenance crew will mark your work order as complete when no one has come to your unit. I have even reached out to corporate and still waiting on a phone call. I would like to report my concerns higher. No one should have to pay $1600 plus dollars monthly and not get the amenities that are outlined in the rental agreement. Please take your money elsewhere and AVOID The Ellis Apartments!!! In addition, the pool has never been open since August 2020, which is an amenity you are paying for. This place is horrible.

Updated March 6th 2024: I came home to discover a renewal letter on my kitchen counter. I was amazed that it was $50 less per month than my current rent. I called the office and I told them that I would sign a new lease if they honored the lease renewal letter. I was advised (someone?)made a mistake and they would not honor the pricing on their own letter. I asked them what my new rental price would be and I was told I would have to wait until tomorrow. These really are tough economic times when a single female cannot even afford to live in a substandard apartment community like this one Updated August 18th 2023: Despite all the improvements they are making on the outside you will still live with gigantic outdoor roaches on your clothing and broken appliances They charge you for pest control services, they make you wait several weeks for pest control services and when they finally get around to giving you an appointment they mess up again and fail to give the pest control company keys to enter your unit. The neighbors allow their children and guests to litter on a daily basis and stray cats still roam the community like a petting zoo . What can I say poverty gives you very few choices as to where you can make a home for yourself. Updated Dec. 20, 2022: Management does not give you the courtesy of advance warning prior to letting outside contractors enter your apartment. These contractors leave lights on, doors unlocked, move your furniture, move your Christmas decorations and leave your apartment dirty. They also cause minor damage and do not leave your apartment the way they found it. Please look elsewhere if you can afford it. I have lived here 2 years & 10 months. Unfortunately, low income individuals have very poor housing options. The Property Owner says he is too busy to call you back on important matters and will only email you. The corporate office will not reply to your email or voicemail but they will reply to your review here on Google. Their reply in not sincere in my opinion. The only thing good I can say about this apartment community is the assistant manager Roberta is very nice , the floor plans are very large and it's 100% electric. The community is like a petting zoo there are stray cats everywhere. Fierce breeds of dogs are always running around too without a leash. Outdoor American roaches will never leave your unit even with weekly pest control treatments. Since the new management team took over approximately 5 months ago there is garbage scattered throughout the community on a daily basis. Your neighbors and their contractors litter in front of your door too. The Management team doesn't care about the residents because it took over 4 months to set up 24-hour emergency maintenance. I had an emergency and water was leaking from the upstairs laundry room into my apartment and caused a good deal of damage to their property. No help came until over 15 hours later. No words of apology were spoken!!!! It took 3 weeks for all the repairs to be completed. Also, management does not care that the top-bolt lock to my front door does not work properly. Locks are not supposed to spin around 360 degrees when locking your door. They gave me new hardware for the bottom lock but they refuse to replace the top-bolt lock. This situation has been occuring for over 1 year now. However, the Management team was given a detailed history of the problem. Poverty forces people to live in less than desirable communities. So if you can afford to live elsewhere please do not rent here. Finally my rent went is going up $166.00 this year and there have been no improvements to the community. No pressure washing to the exterior units NOTHING. They finally gave us access to the gym but will not provide access cards like every other apartment community does . Therefore, you cannot work out in the evening and on weekends. You can only work out during office hours PLEASE if you can afford to live elsewhere keep on looking for your new home. And good luck in your search for a new home.

We lived here from 2015 until nov 2023. Not perfect but was pleasant enough. Matinance was always on point. However the problems began with the change over from 1500 oak to The ellis. When we moved in our apartment was around 1000 a month 3 bedroom. Over the years went up 50 bucks or so with each renewal. The eliis was jumping our rent up 500 a month. Not so great for all your current tenants with minimal changes. So we decided to move. We had alot of issues on our end getting out on time and unfortunately left the unit a bit of a mess. I expected a letter or email from property but did not get own after we left. Logged in online tonoy the bill and it said charged off 0 balance. Never got an email or letter saying other wise. Then todag my credit took a 40 pt hit. They said we owe 600 dollars. I had no problem with paying like i said we left place messy. However no email or mail about bill. So when i called to check on it i spoke with a woman name roberta. She was pleasant on phone until i said i would have appreciated notification. She then told me" we would appreciate if you didnt keave the apartment in such a mess." So i let her go. I cant believe this is how you treat long term tenants. Hostile and nasty. Please becareful its clear they dont care about people once your there.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with The Ellis. It's unfortunate that the changeover from 1500 Oak to The Ellis resulted in a significant increase in your rent. I understand how frustrating it can be when there are minimal changes in the apartment but the rent increases significantly. It's also disappointing to hear that you did not receive any communication from the property management regarding the outstanding bill. It's always better to have clear communication with tenants, especially when there are financial matters involved. I can understand why you would be frustrated by the lack of communication. Regarding the mess left behind, it's great that you were willing to pay for the damages. However, I can understand why you would be upset about the way Roberta spoke with you on the phone. It's never acceptable for anyone to be hostile or nasty, especially to a long-term tenant. I hope that your experience with The Ellis doesn't discourage you from finding a better living situation in the future.
