I did a LT1 in a 1996 TA for a customer it came with a T56 6 spd. I took the guys at Southern Gear the T56 and they worked thier stuff into it. The end result with all the HD pieces they put in it for me is a T56 with about 35k on it behind a stout 355 that makes about 580hp and hasn't had so much as a hicupp since I put it in. They told me what it needed to work well and stay together. They gave me a price and that's what I pd when I picked it up . Service: Transmission

I called Southern Gear on February 8, 2022 and asked if they could rebuild a '89 Ford Bronco II 5 speed transmission and transfer case. They said yes but it would take 4-8 weeks to get it rebuilt. I picked it up today after 23 weeks and they had not touched it. I called no less than 6 times during the 23 weeks and the only answer I got was they hadn't touched it nor could I get an answer as to when they might complete it. They never would respond. At least 3 times when I called to check on it their response was: 'you can come get it if you like'. I even called and asked to speak to the owner. He 'wasn't in'. I left a message asking him to call me which he did not respond to. I would recommend that you find somebody else who is more reliable to work on your equipment. After using them for 30+ years, I'm finished! They didn't even explain WHY or say I'm sorry.
