Manor Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care - BridgeMill

I just moved my father out of Bridgemill because I had to move him to a nursing home. I want to thank Ramez, Morgan and all of the wonderful staff here. My dad had been in a couple different assisted living homes before this one and I can definitely say that Bridgemill in Canton was the best. Were there any complaints? Sure there were but we always want the absolute best for our parents. Did I ever worry that my father was not being helped or that he would be hungry or that he was not in a loving and caring environment? Never! If I had a problem I would reach out to someone or drop by and any small issue would be handled. Did they always have the best food? Guess that depends on your taste. My dad enjoyed some more than others but if it was something being served he did not like he always had the option to change his meal. Did the staff treat him bad? Absolutely not! They showed love and compassion and became friends. My dad is not always the easiest to get along with but even when he would gripe to me he would always tell what good care they took of him. Toward the end of his stay when he was becoming less of an assisted living and more toward nursing home, Ramez reached out to me and assured me he would not be kicked out and gave me plenty of time to get him moved. They helped take extra care of him during that transition which I appreciated very much. People can complain about long wait times for help with their loved one, or that the food is not perfect at every meal but the truth is staffing issues. Not because of Manor Lake but finding people who are willing to work. I have met and talked with many of the staff and they really are good people with a hard job. No place will be perfect but this place was a good home for my dad and for his family. We knew he was safe and taken care of. That says a lot!

Make sure you check in on your loved ones unannounced to make sure they are being cleaned up after being incontinent and fed. The staff is lazy and lower management allows this.

My mother has been a resident now for over a month. The staff is wonderful and they truly care about making each resident happy.
