The backup camera on the 2021 elantra quit working about 9 months ago. The cars been to their shop twice and still not fixed. They can't tell me when my part will be in. I can't get anyone of importance on the phone. And to get an oil change you have to make an appointment a month away then it takes all day. This service center is absolute trash. *This review goes for not only AutoNation but Hyundai as a whole. My family purchased our Tucson in 2021. It was our first Hyundai, and we have been satisfied with the vehicle, except for a few things which we wished Hyundai did differently. But ever since the first maintenance at 7,500 miles, it was a disappointment and frustration every step of the way. Earlier this year, I called to schedule an appointment for oil change. They told me oil change is only done first-come-first-serve basis. I found it a bit strange, but went ahead and walked in, waiting on my car for 4 hours on my off days, whenever I needed to get routine maintenance done. This morning, I went to AutoNation at 6:45 AM to avoid long lines. At 7:02, the door was still closed. I had to knock and let the staff know that I was there. The first thing the staff asked me was whether I had an appointment. Apparently, maintenance are "only" by appointments: if I chose to wait, it would be done "sometime in the day." Then he checked with another staff and told me that the next appointment would be January 18th. Today is December 9th. I do not know what happened since my unsuccessful attempt at reserving a spot earlier this year. Perhaps AutoNation Hyundai began to take appointments; or maybe I was simply lied to. From my experience, an oil change takes about, or under, an hour. Even with the large number of vehicles that come in daily, I struggle to understand how an appointment for oil change takes over a month. How is this reasonable or realistic, when I do not know how many miles I will have a month from now? The vehicle was purchased in Illinois. My family took it to Texas on a road trip and brought it to Georgia when we moved. In Illinois, in Texas, and in Georgia, I had to drive back at least once because the wait is too long. Not every patron can drop off their vehicle. Does Hyundai not care about those who have to wait? Or does Hyundai stop caring the moment the contract is signed? Even the routine maintenance covered by warranty (up to 30,000 or 35,000 miles, I forget the exact number) is not "covered." One is to come back for an oil change every 3,750 miles. Only every other oil change is covered by warranty. This was not explained at the time of purchase. I only found out when I brought in my vehicle for maintenance. Had I known, my family would have reconsidered the purchase. My family Tucson only has a bit over 22,000 miles, but we are seeking to trade it in after what happened today. We wish not to deal with this kind of business practice anymore. It is amazing how Hyundai became so successful with such practice. My family will not set foot in any Hyundai dealership; and we will make sure everyone around us knows what Hyundai's approach to service is like. Hyundai, do better. You need to.
