I had an unplanned two day stay at St. Simons Island. So very pleased with my choice to stay at this hotel. First, the staff is entirely professional. From the moment I called to make the reservation, I was treated as their guest. Each and every staff member I came in contact with were amazing. This all stems from their General Manager, Amanda Bessing went way above what she could have done. My vehicle broke down on Saturday and could not be fixed until Monday. She adjusted things for me to have a very late check out Monday. Amanda promised me she would work things out to accommodate me. Thank you all so much. Cannot wait to come back for another visit.
Nearby activities: A few miles down the road is the pier. That location has several great restaurants and bars. Wonderful people working at at Iguanas and Rafters. So much fun.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on St Simon Island and overall, I had a mixed experience.
First, the location of the hotel is great. It's near the airport and golf courses. The service at the hotel was also good, with friendly staff.
However, the room itself was quite disappointing. It was in desperate need of a major update, with outdated furniture and amenities. Additionally, the window in our room could not be locked and it faced the parking lot, which made us feel a bit unsafe.
To make matters worse, all three of us ended up with bedbug bites during our stay. This was extremely unpleasant and made our experience at the hotel even worse.
Overall, while the location and service at the Holiday Inn Express on St Simon Island were good, the condition of the room and the bedbug issue were major drawbacks. I would recommend that the hotel address these issues before I would consider staying there again.
