Got a comprehensive exam, Dr Coleman is very knowledgeable. Explained what to look for with exfoliation glaucoma, found a small scar from an earlier eye injury, and honored my request for a specific brand of contact lenses even though they had to order them for trial wear. They were also kind enough to have a written copy of my prescription ready for me upon checkout when I told them I'd probably order the lenses online. It's nice to go to an eye doctor that recognizes that you are a paying customer and respects your requests. I had a previous eye doctor in Atlanta that refused to write the prescription for the contact lens brand I wanted. I had to try each brand he recommended which resulted in multiple trips to his office so I could tell him what I already knew. Southeast Eye Group isn't like that and they respect your time. I considered ordering my contacts from them but they said I did not have an insurance benefit for contact lenses, only for glasses. When I called 800-contacts, they managed to apply a 150 insurance benefit and they said I could return any unused lenses at any time for any reason. Given I was sitting on an unopened year's supply with a different brand that I couldn't wear, this was really appealing. Couple other bits of info that users might find helpful: You can get an optic eye map instead of dilation, but it is $40 since insurance does not cover it. It's worth it though. Contact fitting is also $40. They will take back any lenses you've ordered through their office within 6 months. Their office staff will bend over backwards to get you scheduled (for me it was same day) and they are efficient and organized. Beth and Tanner are cool.

I am an RN and I worked in a large ophthalmology clinic. We moved here from Florida and I was looking for a good eye Dr. I decided to try them. Their office is nice and equipment new with the latest technology. I got my glasses, and they talked me into a 2nd pair for 1/2 the cost. I bought them, had them a few weeks and had trouble seeing with them. I went back and the girl adjusted my frames. And told me to try that. A couple more weeks went by and I was still having trouble! I went back and they made an appointment for me to see Dr Gabby again. She said the prescription was good. Fast forward a year a ND my vision is awful, many times I fins it better without the glasses! So I called, canceled my apt, explained why, and the girl said I'm sorry. Never did she offer to have someone else call me to see what they could do. That amazed me, at the practice where I had worked, they would schedule you for a free evaluation and make every attempt to resolve the issue! I honestly have found the medical care here in Blairsville, less than adequate. I call it "mountain medicine". Fortunately we go back ti Dlorida every year so I have scheduled an apt math our former eye Dr in Florida. Sorry to day, but we have really been disenchanted by doctors here.
