Luis (owner) and I agreed to begin a Job Friday 7/10. Luis pushed the job back several times before finally starting 7/14. Luis claimed he was busy. Luis and I agreed that I would pay him for the work in 3 installments. First installment would be paid Tuesday 7/18. He agreed. Tuesday morning, I pay him promptly. Luis immediately becomes unresponsive over the next few days. Come to find out hed completely abandoned the job and left a mess out home my investment home (which I was informed by the community manager). After several calls and texts he calls and says that I should have paid him half of the total job and that common sense would have told me to pay half up front. I agreed to actually pay him more money on Friday 7/21 than wed agreed. My only ask was that he resume work because Im behind schedule on my project. Friday he calls and says that hes quitting and made off with my materials and 2,000$ in cash. During the entire project I also overheard him saying in Spanish that he didnt have time to finish this job and he had several others. Several contractors have told me that the little work that he had done hed done in correctly and we would have to tear it down and start over. Avoid him and Gold remodeling services at all cost unless you enjoy being swindled.
